Lost Horizons is a collection of handmade sweaters & apparel made from 100% pure New Zealand wool.
Our products are designed in Canada and made in partnership with local artisans in Nepal since 1993.
We’re best-known for our sweaters, but Lost Horizons is so much more. We also make skirts, mittens, beanies, bags and other accessories.

Our Story
Our company was founded in 1993 under the name Laundromat by Quebecer Francis Dubé in partnership with a family-owned knitting business in Kathmandu, Nepal. But the history of our brand goes back to 1991, when Francis traveled to Nepal for the first time.
Overcome by the handmade products he found, Francis purchased several items to sell to friends back home in Canada. Little did he know it was the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Nepal.
In 2020, we welcomed a new brand, Lost Horizons, to the Laundromat family, and in 2021 we merged brands under the name Lost Horizons.
Fair Trade & Fair Wages
Lost Horizons has been an accredited Member of the Fair Trade Federation since 2007. Our holistic approach to Fair Trade ensures everyone involved in our business—from our artisans in Nepal, to our Canadian team members, to our customers around the world—is treated with respect.
Lost Horizons Knitwear is produced by teams of mostly women Nepalese knitter groups that vary in size from eight to several dozen women. Each of our highly skilled knitters receives fair compensation for their handiwork.

Eco-Friendly & Sustainable
Lost Horizons products are exclusively made from natural and sustainable materials using AZO-free dyes for the safety of our workers and the environment. We use local Nepali materials wherever possible to ensure the integrity of our products and to support local industry.
Since 2016, Lost Horizons has partnered with Clean Up Nepal for our Plant a Seed Initiative, sponsoring a native tree to be planted somewhere in Kathmandu for each sale we make.
Lifetime Guarantee
As part of our commitment to slow fashion and sustainability, Lost Horizons offers a Lifetime Guarantee on all new sweater purchases. Our knitwear is made to last using the finest quality natural materials and craftsmanship—which is why Lost Horizons has a minimal return rate on our sweaters.
If you do notice a flaw in your garment, be it faulty stitching or a pulled yarn, we encourage you to have it mended—on us. Instead of returning your sweater, we encourage you to have it repaired locally, and we'll cover the cost.
